As the human population rises to 9 billion by 2050 there are increasing demands for food, feed, fibre, fuel and chemicals that will need to be met by plant biosciences innovations.

The spectres of food price increases, peak oil, global warming and diminishing agricultural resources (e.g. water, land, phosphate) will necessitate the sustainable intensification of agriculture coupled with a transition to a more sustainable bio-based economy (where products generated from fossil-fuels will have to instead be generated from renewable plant biomass).

AgBiotechnics Ltd mission statement is to generate, harness and deploy plant and agricultural biosciences innovations that contribute to sustainable economic development.

AgBiotechnics Ltd works closely with partners in Ireland and internationally to facilite innovative and cost-effective transitions to a more sustainable bio-based economy.
